All my fives for creativity's sake. Rarely ever hear someone showing off intelligence and flow in the same instance. Ten times better than what I'm capable of. :) I was expecting some beatboxing to kick in any moment.

Cyberdevil responds:

Glad you appreciate the unorthodox topics! I thought about making a bit more regular everyday slice-of-life recordings like this for a while, but just turned into a select few... might be worth picking up again! My beatboxing though... think it's probably best left in the background. XD Thanks for listening in!

Totally unexpected. It's also really strange knowing what your voice sounds like now. Really creative. :D

Cyberdevil responds:

Unexpected in a good way judging by the stars? ;) Only fair you hear me here now that I've been listening to them podcasts so long haha. Thank you!

Had to check your making of video just to make sure this wasn't rule breaking. I see some midi, so gonna leave it as is. I will say, it's obscenely repetitive and needs sidechaining. But this is the usual with most dubstep. Otherwise, fine composition.

PancakePocket responds:

Thanks. I hate it when People falsely accuse me of breaking rules.. I even made a video for proof I made it but apparently it sounded similar to one of the loops so people accused me of stealing a loop. Proof i made the video - https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCrfRVd6wAdDhxi6JzLzTzNg

Not too bad. It doesn't sound like just the same melody over and over again, which I appreciate. Your drums are buried in the mix though. This is typical of new artists. We don't realize how loud drums really need to be not to just disappear in our ears. I recommend turning those leads down, and doing a little something different with your bass. It's clashing with the rest of the song. If you've never studied music theory, I'd recommend that and focusing on learning about voice leading, avoiding parallel fifths and octaves -- that's my issue with this tune.

SquareWave-Kittycat responds:

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try to improve! This is actually a remake of an older song, fun fact.

So you guys almost got murdered by luciferians, and you and your boyfriend almost were ambushed by some rando in a room full of pentagrams, and an out-of-jurisdiction police officer who may or may not have been real kept you out of trouble. Huh. His non-belief in ghosts is weird. Could have even been an angel. Can't argue his timing wasn't impeccable.

Once upon a time, I was watching one of Jay Smith's lectures, and he mentioned being beaten up on his ladder at speakers' corner pretty regularly -- although for Christians, that's admittedly the norm.

Well, one day, he went out to dinner with a Muslim who had been in the crowd, watching him speak, but the guy was shaking in his boots the whole time. Finally, Jay asked him, "What's wrong?" The Muslim looked at him like he was crazy. "Did you see the men? The two men in the trees overhead?" Jay had no idea what he was talking about. He didn't see any men in the trees, but the guy described them to him, two men in white, crouching in the branches, looking down at the crowd. Then he recalled how many people must have been praying for him every day. Twice, when an entire mob jumped on Jay, he was shielded by a big black guy who laid over top of him and took the blows. To this day he's never been able to thank him to his face.

Just a thought -- I've heard lots of testimonies of mysterious people showing up in the nick of time, helping out, and then sort of vanishing into thin air, never to be heard from again. Some accounts are more miraculous than others, but it's such an interesting and prolific phenomenon, I can't help but wonder if that police officer with his good advice and impeccable timing was another case for the books. :P

Oh no, I'm with you. I feel he definitely could have been an angel or something supernatural.

Half a star for an interesting sound palette. -4.5 stars for borderline ear rape.

Nice piece. Vocal editing isn't super clean -- between clips, and your harmony is a little flat. Lyrics are great. Delivery is about a 7 out of 10 for me. Really something to think about though. I would have appreciated a little hi-hat, ride cymbal, or something to push things along just a little bit and give more atmosphere.

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks so much for the review! I totally agree about the vocals. I should spend more time editing them after the Halloween Spooktacular is over. The hats are a good idea too. Thanks again, ADR3-N! ^^

Very nice writing. Purposed, disconcerting. Really enjoying this.

bdowing27 responds:

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Here pretty soon I'll be uploading an updated version where the outer sections are less quiet in comparison to that louder middle section.

Oh do I hear Nexus keys? I think I do. I'm liking your chord progression, but those wobbly .. Are those saws? Ramps? Way up high, they're a bit over-reverbed, and the attack is just... off.

That's an interesting drop. I'd enjoy it more if the cowbell/agogo sounding instrument were sort of spread out, and side-chained. Nice writing on your drops. They're a little crowded though. Clean up that EQ.

Also, was this supposed to loop? Sudden cut off was jarring.

demon1000 responds:

Thanks for review!, Yeah i did use Nexus a few times, but i was kinda rushing on this one while it was still Halloween at the moment...

Interesting. A bit repetitive with that vocal lead, which is wayyyy too loud for my taste -- and could use more reverb. Drop could be a bit less repetitive, and the drums are way down in the mix. That's what's keeping me from dropping a higher score. Your writing is fine apart from that.

Side-chaining would improve this mix 100%. I do like what you've done with the drop, but I wish there were more bass.
